范凌( Fan Lin )

博士是一位设计科技学者和互联网创业者,2015年创立特赞 | Tezign.com 信息科技有限公司,将设计创意人才与社会、科技和商业项目通过大数据和算法进行精准对接,改变传统设计创意服务的工作方式,现在是中国领先的设计创意人才数据平台。

范凌博士毕业于哈佛大学和普林斯顿大学,分获博士和硕士学位。2015年由『千人计划』引进回国,创业前范凌在美国加州大学伯克利分校任设计、人机与环境交互教授。他曾在中国中央美术学院和挪威奥斯陆建筑与设计学院任教,担任哈佛大学商学院创新实验室的设计与互联网研究员,普林斯顿大学建筑、城市和基础设施研究中心中国研究员等。2016年被聘为同济大学高等研究院特聘研究员和博士生导师,并成立同济x特赞设计与人工智能实验室,该实验室致力于设计与数据、算法和网络的跨学科应用研究和人才培养。2017年,该实验室发布了全球首份设计和人工智能报告

范凌是世界经济论坛全球青年领袖(Young Global Leaders),首任香港M+美术馆/设计基金会设计奖金获得者,他还曾荣获2008年青年艺术评论奖、2011年首届马爹利关注未来艺术英才计划、2011-14国家留学基金委艺术特别计划、2015年首届创基金研究扶持计划等奖项。范凌是美国著名智库阿斯彭学会中国会员(Aspen Institute China Fellowship)和阿斯彭全球领袖网络成员。

Dr. Ling Fan is a designer, entrepreneur, and catalyst to bridge design, technology and business. He is the founder of Tezign.com, a venture-backed tech startup as a platform-based design and creative talent solution. Prior to be an entrepreneur, Ling was an assistant professor in design, human-environment interaction, and urbanism at the University of California at Berkeley and China Central Academy of Fine Arts, respectively. He is the founding chair of “Tongji x Tezign Design & Artificial Intelligence Laboratory” at Tongji University. This lab is devoted to interdisplinary research and pedegogy bringing data, algorithm and network into design, and publishes design and A.I report.

Ling is a World Economic Forum Global Young Leader. Hong Kong M+/Design Trust awarded Fan as the inaugural design fellow in 2014. Ling has received numerous international awards, including the China National Thousand Talent Plan, Contemporary Young Art Criticism prize from Art Observationjournal; the Focus on Talent Award from the Martell Art Foundation and Today Art Museum; and the National Art Special Project grant from the China National Scholarship Council. Ling is the fourth class of Aspen Institute China Fellowship program and a member of Aspen Global Leadership Network.

Ling received his Doctor of Design from Harvard University and a master from Princeton University. He was a fellow at Harvard Innovation Lab and Princeton Center for Architecture, Urbanism and Infrastructure.


Design Creativity and Device Intelligence
设计创意与机器智能

计和创意的工作不追求确定性,反而是受益于不确定性的。设计和创意的人工智能并不以获得合适的答案为目的,而可以创造不确定,进而对人形成设计和创意启发。人创造的瓶颈是人自身的经验、逻辑和方法,人工智能可否帮我们超越我们的经验或者逻辑或者方法,从而让人的创造进一步释放呢?设计创意需要的创造力和感情,恰好应该在智能时代扮演更重要的链接人工智能和人性的角色。因此,设计创意与人工智能的关系远远要比工作取代关系深入和复杂。基于这样的前提,由同济大学和特赞信息科技联合发布了首个《设计和人工智能报告》,通过对学术文献、技术资料和产业案例的定性和定量分析,从专家采访、趋势预测、劳动力再分配观察和教育改革等方面,试图对设计与人工智能的交叉学科问题进行建构,希望帮助更多设计师为人工智能时代做准备。

Design and creative work does not pursue certainty, but rather benefit from uncertainty. Design and creative artificial intelligence is not for the right answers , but can create uncertainty, so that to inspire the formation of design and creative. Bottleneck of human creation is their own experience, logic and methods, can artificial intelligence helps us beyond our experience or logic or methods, so that release further creation ? Design requires creativity and feelings, which should just play a more important link between artificial intelligence and humanity in the intelligent era. Therefore, the relationship between design creativity and artificial intelligence is far more complicated than the latter substitues the former. Based on this premise, the first “Design and Artificial Intelligence Report” was jointly published by Tongji University and Tezign Information Technology. Through the qualitative and quantitative analysis of academic literature, technical information and industry cases, from expert interviews, trend forecasting, labor force redistribution and education reform, we are trying to construct the interdisciplinary problem of design and artificial intelligence, hoping to help more designers prepare for the artificial intelligence era.
